Around 32,500 households in Denmark have been transferred to new electricity suppliers after their original providers were terminated by a grid operator, state energy agency Energinet announced on Tuesday.
The affected customers were with suppliers Velkommen A/S, Nettopower ApS, Power Fuel A/S, and Vedvarende A/S, primarily on Zealand and Lolland-Falster, excluding Helsingør and Slagelse. The grid operator Cerius-Radius, which owns and maintains the electricity network in these areas, ended its agreements with the suppliers.
The transfer took effect on 30 June. According to Energinet, the new suppliers had previously indicated their willingness to take on customers in such cases.
Martin Lervad Lundø, director of Energinet DataHub, said the agency ensures no consumers lose power during such transitions. All affected customers will receive direct notice from their new supplier and may choose to keep or switch providers afterward.
