SAS to announce major aircraft order
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will unveil a large-scale aircraft order Tuesday morning, according to Danish newspaper Berlingske.
The deal involves a significant fleet expansion, thousands of new jobs, and multiple new routes, the report states. The investment plan spans five years and is expected to transform SAS into a substantially larger carrier.
“SAS is making one of the most significant investments in our history,” CEO Anko van der Werff told the newspaper.
Bloomberg previously reported SAS was set to purchase 15–20 new aircraft, but van der Werff did not confirm the figure to Berlingske. The airline will hold a press conference in Denmark at 10:00 local time.
