The Faroese Red Cross and the Faroese government have jointly allocated 800,000 krona in emergency aid to Venezuela following recent earthquakes, according to a report by Faroese broadcaster KVF.
The funds will support those most affected, with priorities including lifesaving assistance, family reunification, rescue operations, healthcare, first aid, psychological support, and access to clean water, sanitation, and medical supplies. Aid will also help families who have lost contact with relatives.
Nearly 9.7 million people have been affected by the earthquakes, with at least 1,450 confirmed dead and 3,150 missing, though numbers are expected to rise as more victims are found in rubble. Over 204 buildings have collapsed, 217 have sustained major damage, and 300 others have been partially damaged. Critical infrastructure has also been severely impacted.
