Man suspected of violent crimes against family in Lahti

Police in Häme are investigating a 46-year-old man suspected of attempted murder and assault against his partner and their underage child in Lahti’s Laune district.

The man was arrested after emergency services received a call at around 4:30 AM on Saturday, June 27. Investigators say the father allegedly used a knife in the attack on the mother and also assaulted the child present at the scene.

Prosecutors will seek his remand in custody at a hearing on Tuesday.
