Police suspect arson in two separate fires that destroyed abandoned houses in Forssa within a week, local public broadcaster Yle reports.
The first blaze occurred on Midsummer Eve, destroying a wooden house in the Kalliomäki area, a district with culturally significant buildings. The second fire broke out early on 28 June on Kolmiontie, completely destroying a 60-square-metre abandoned house. Firefighters arrived to find the building fully engulfed but managed to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby structures.
Investigators believe the same group of approximately 15-year-old youths, seen near the first fire dressed in dark clothing and riding bicycles, are responsible for both incidents.
