This year’s Danish graduation celebrations featured banners referencing US President Donald Trump, MobilePay donation boxes, and chatbots, according to DR’s nationwide coverage.

At Ringkøbing Gymnasium, class 3.B compared their academic journey to Trump’s achievements, while also including a nod to MobilePay. Other schools, like Hasseris Gymnasium in Aalborg, let AI take center stage with banners highlighting chatbot contributions.

Traditions varied across the country. In Rønne on Bornholm, Bent Hansen drove students in a horse-drawn carriage for the 39th consecutive year, with horses Punto and Ekko leading the way for the 22nd time. Meanwhile, students in Vejle gathered for group dances, and Princess Isabella’s graduation procession was captured by the royal family.

Live coverage included a student from Midtfyns Gymnasium demonstrating the “studenter-allé” tradition, where classmates form an aisle for arriving graduates. At Sankt Annæ Gymnasium in Copenhagen, students sang “I Danmark er jeg født” together in their decorated truck.

DR’s live broadcast from Strøget in Copenhagen concluded with a performance by musicians Anthon Edwards (formerly of Citybois) and rapper-producer Emil Kruse at Storkespringvandet.
