Varðin, the Faroese port authority, recorded a post-tax profit of 231 million krona in 2025, nearly double the 119 million krona earned in 2024, the authority announced on Friday.

Total payments in port and tonnage dues reached 132.5 million krona last year, bringing the five-year total to 612 million krona. Vessel calls generated 634 million krona in revenue, up 46 million from 2024, despite no new ships arriving in 2025.

This year, Varðin will take delivery of two new freezer trawlers in August and September. The first, with 24 crew cabins, will enter service immediately, while the second is scheduled for early 2027. The combined investment totals 426 million krona.

The authority’s annual report made no mention of construction plans for Tvøroyri.
