Man charged with attempted murder after stabbing in Fredrikstad

A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after another 19-year-old was found with multiple stab wounds at a cemetery in Fredrikstad on Thursday evening, Dagbladet reports.

Police received a call at 19:32 reporting an unconscious person on the ground, operations leader Melissa Krag Mørch told the newspaper. A suspect was later detained.

NRK, citing incident leader Stein Roger Lunde, confirmed a stabbing had taken place. Police have cordoned off part of the cemetery, with canine units and forensic teams present at the scene, according to local outlet Fredrikstad Blad.

Dagbladet was unable to reach police for further comment.
