Faroese cyclists begin Paris charity ride with prologue

Team Rynkeby Føroyar launched its annual charity cycle to Paris on Thursday with a prologue ride from Klaksvík to Tórshavn, reports Faroese broadcaster KVF.

The prologue started at Helnabrekka in Klaksvík at 10:30 and passed through Norðragøta, Glyvrar, Saltangará, Toftir, Strond, and Streymnes before finishing in Tórsgøta, Tórshavn at 19:45.

This is the 13th year Team Rynkeby Føroyar has fielded teams for the Paris ride, which raises funds for seriously ill children and their families. Two teams are participating this year, departing the Faroe Islands next Friday and arriving in Paris on Saturday, 11 July.
