Wanted Swedish man deported from Faroe Islands

A Swedish man wanted for a serious crime has been deported from the Faroe Islands to Sweden, Faroese police confirmed to public broadcaster KVF.

The man, in his 30s, was arrested and held for seven days while authorities awaited approval from Sweden for his deportation. He had arrived in the Faroe Islands to visit a relative.

Swedish police took custody of the man at Copenhagen Airport. He is suspected of a crime committed in May carrying a minimum sentence of seven years.
