Accident near Vestmanna claims life of young Faroese man

An workplace accident near Vestmanna today has claimed a life.

The police received a report around 11 AM that a young Faroese man had been crushed by a hammer during work activities.

Despite the arrival of a rescue helicopter, it was confirmed that the man had died at the scene.

According to the website of the Faroese emergency services, the incident occurred at the Mýruverkið site in Vestmanna.

The man’s relatives have been informed, and the police are currently investigating the matter.
