Finland to allow alcohol home delivery
Finland’s parliament has approved a law permitting the remote sale and home delivery of alcohol, as reported by Yle.
The change applies to domestic sellers and those operating within the EU/ETA area. Under the new rules, alcohol ordered from a local store can be delivered to a customer’s home if the retailer or a delivery service offers it.
Deliveries must occur between 9 AM and 9 PM, matching in-store sales hours. For orders placed with Alko, Finland’s state-run alcohol retailer, deliveries are restricted to Alko’s opening hours.
Stronger alcoholic beverages may still only be sold by Alko and sellers from other EU/ETA countries.
