A 62-year-old man has been charged with murder and violating a restraining order after allegedly shooting his former partner, a 47-year-old woman, eight times in the head in Brønshøj on 16 June 2025, DR reports.
According to the prosecution, the man had repeatedly violated the restraining order, including an incident on 10 May 2025 when he allegedly banged on the woman’s window and said, “We need to talk,” “You will regret this,” and “You are my wife.”
The man acquired a 9mm Glock pistol the day before the killing, allegedly obtaining it on Christiania. Prosecutors state he had attempted to get a weapon multiple times since April 2025, including through direct contact with individuals at a hostel where he was staying, and via WhatsApp messages in early May.
During initial questioning, the man denied guilt. He and the victim, who had children together, were both under a name ban. The trial is set to begin in November.
