Man arrested in Somero homicide investigation
A 65-year-old man has been remanded in custody on suspicion of murder following a fatal stabbing in Somero, reports Yle.
The homicide occurred last Thursday in a private residence on Turuntie in Somero. Police were alerted after a bloodied man was seen walking in the town centre.
Investigators have now detained the suspect, described as approximately 65 years old, on probable cause. The victim was a 40-year-old man.
Another man, aged 30, was initially taken into custody but has since been released without charge. Police stated there is currently no suspicion against him.
Lead investigator, Detective Chief Inspector Jukka Kyynäräinen, said the preliminary investigation remains in its early stages and will continue for weeks. Authorities have not disclosed further details due to the ongoing inquiry.
