One arrested in Vaasa Midsummer Eve homicide

Police in Vaasa have arrested one person in connection with a homicide and attempted homicide that occurred in the city centre on Midsummer Eve, Yle reports.

The suspect was taken into custody on Sunday. According to Ostrobothnia police, no other suspects are currently known.

Authorities received a report of a violent crime against life and health on Friday morning. The incident took place at Asemakatu 37 in central Vaasa. At the time, police sought public tips regarding two men who had left the scene.

For investigative reasons, police have not released further details at this stage.
