Woman arrested after axe attack in Nokia

Police in Central Finland are investigating an attempted murder after a woman allegedly struck a man in the head with an axe in Nokia on Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 15:00 at a private residence in the Linnavuori district, where a woman, approximately 50 years old, is suspected of assaulting an adult man with an axe, according to a police statement.

The victim was hospitalised but is not currently in life-threatening condition. Police confirmed the two knew each other prior to the attack.

Authorities arrested the suspect at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder, though charges may be adjusted as the investigation progresses. Police have not released further details to avoid compromising the inquiry.
