Unexploded wartime bomb found in Simo, area evacuated

A wartime aerial bomb was discovered near a railway line in Simo, Finland, during repair work on Saturday, according to a statement from the Lapland Police Department.

The bomb was found near Torviaavantie road, prompting authorities to establish a 300-meter exclusion zone. Residents within the area have been relocated, and police have cordoned off the site.

A Finnish Defence Forces bomb disposal team is en route to the location. Police have urged the public to avoid the Torviaavantie area.
