Woman in her 70s found dead in water in Helsinki

A woman in her 70s was found dead in the sea in Helsinki on Midsummer Eve, according to Helsinki police.

The woman had gone swimming, police said. Emergency services notified police around 4:45 p.m. Friday after a body was discovered in the shore waters off Lauttasaari.

Police do not suspect foul play and are investigating the case as a death inquiry.
