Antonov An-124 cargo plane lands at Tikkakoski

A massive Antonov An-124 transport aircraft landed at Jyväskylä’s Tikkakoski airport at around 2:30 p.m. today, according to Finavia.

The visit is linked to the Ramstein Flag 26 exercise, Finavia’s communications stated. The arrival from Leipzig, Germany, is part of normal operations and does not require special procedures at the airport.

Flight tracking data indicates the plane is scheduled to depart at around 5:30 p.m. It previously visited Tikkakoski in early June, delivering Polish air force equipment for the same NATO exercise.

The Antonov An-124 is a Ukrainian-built cargo aircraft that first flew in 1982.
