One person hospitalized after vehicle collision in Melasveit, West Iceland

One person was transported by ambulance to the West Iceland Health Care Institution for treatment following a collision between two vehicles in Melasveit, West Iceland, around 11 AM today. Three individuals were involved in the accident, but two of them were deemed not to require further assistance after being assessed at the scene, according to the local fire chief, Jens Heiðar Ragnarsson. The road was temporarily closed while emergency responders attended to the incident. The vehicles sustained significant damage and were subsequently towed away. The road has since been reopened to traffic.
