One dead, one critically injured in Merikarvia car crash

One person died and another was seriously injured after a car veered off the road in Merikarvia, Southwestern Finland Police reported.

Police received a report of a car off the road before 6 a.m. on Vaasantie. Officers found a severely damaged vehicle that had crossed into oncoming traffic. Two people were located near the car; one was confirmed dead, while the other sustained serious injuries.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident and have not released further details at this stage.
