Lindtman leads as Finland’s preferred next prime minister

A new poll by Maaseudun Tulevaisuus, conducted by Kantar Agri, shows Social Democratic Party leader Antti Lindtman as the most popular choice for Finland’s next prime minister among current party leaders, with 17% support.

Antti Kaikkonen of the Centre Party and Riikka Purra of the Finns Party tied for second, each with 11%. Current Prime Minister Petteri Orpo of the National Coalition Party followed at 9%.

Sofia Virta of the Greens and Minja Koskela of the Left Alliance each received 7%, while Harry Harkimo of the Movement Now garnered 4%. Anders Adlercreutz of the Swedish People’s Party and Sari Essayah of the Christian Democrats each had 3%.

13% of respondents said none of the party leaders would make the best prime minister, and 15% were undecided. The survey, conducted in late May, included around 1,000 respondents with a margin of error of approximately 3 percentage points.
