Midsommar weather forecast warns of rain and thunderstorms

Parts of Sweden may see rain showers on Midsummer Eve, with more unstable conditions expected on Midsummer Day, according to a forecast from SVT.

Northern Sweden faces a risk of rain on Midsummer Eve, as does the southernmost region, while central areas may experience scattered showers, said SVT meteorologist Marcus Sjöstedt.

On Midsummer Day, severe thunderstorms moving from the south could bring heavy rainfall. The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued a yellow warning for large parts of southern Sweden, covering potential heavy thunderstorms and localized downpours.

Sjöstedt noted that not all areas will be affected, but the exact locations remain uncertain.
