Faroese banks post 719 million krona pre-tax profit in 2025

The four Faroese banks reported a combined pre-tax profit of 719 million krona in 2025, according to financial statements reviewed by the Faroese financial regulator Váðaráðið.

This marks a decrease from 792 million krona in 2024.

Return on equity after tax varied among the banks: Føroya Banki at 14.1%, Betri Banki at 10.3%, Norðoya Sparikassi at 7.4%, and Suðuroyar Sparikassi at 5.9%.

Váðaráðið also reported that Faroese pension savings totaled 14.2 billion krona in 2024, with 11 billion held in Faroese banks and pension funds. Of this, 74% was in pension funds, with roughly half of bank-held savings in securities and the other half in loans.
