Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has signed a framework agreement worth SEK 4 billion to purchase vehicle-mounted mine dispensers through 2032, state broadcaster SVT reports.

The contract covers the Skorpion 2 system, which deploys anti-tank mines, and was signed with German manufacturer Dynamit Nobel Defence. An initial order of approximately SEK 900 million has already been placed.

“This procurement is important for strengthening the defence of Swedish and allied territory. Anti-tank mines remain crucial for hindering and delaying enemy ground advances,” said Jonas Lotsne, head of FMV’s army materiel division.

The Skorpion 2 can deploy 400 mines in ten minutes and is compatible with multiple vehicle platforms.
