Workplaces in the Faroe Islands must comply with health, safety, and environment (HTU) regulations, according to Landsverk, the national workplace authority.

Employers are required to implement a single HTU plan at each workplace, covering health, safety, and environmental standards. While documenting and maintaining safety measures can be demanding, the ultimate responsibility lies with the employer, Landsverk’s HTU coordinator told Faroese public broadcaster KVF.

The authority noted that safety standards currently fall short in many workplaces across the islands.
