Colonel Jussi Toivanen to lead Pori Brigade

The Pori Brigade will have a new commander starting in July, as Colonel Jussi Toivanen takes over the role, Yle reports.

Current commander, Brigadier General Jami Virta, will transition to serve as the administrative chief at the Finnish Defence Forces’ headquarters.

Toivanen, who currently holds a special assignment in the Defence Command’s planning department, completed the General Staff Officer course in 2011 and the US Army War College in 2025.
