Duck family strolls into Porvoo toy shop, mother leads ducklings to princess section
A family of ducks wandered into the Riimikko toy shop in Porvoo’s old town on Friday, with the mother duck deliberately leading her six ducklings straight to the store’s princess-themed section, shopkeeper Suvi Voutilainen told Yle.
Voutilainen noticed the unusual visitors while serving a customer at the register. She described the mother duck as determined, keeping her brood tightly together as they entered.
Attempts to guide the family back toward the front door failed, as the mother instead steered them toward the princess room, which sells themed clothing and accessories.
“She probably wanted to take the little ones to see the dresses,” Voutilainen said.
The ducks eventually exited through the shop’s back door. Voutilainen speculated they may have been taking a shortcut to the riverfront. A small mess—and a small memory—was left behind in the princess section.
