A high-end jewelry store in Oslo’s Bogstadveien was broken into early Monday, with thieves making off with exclusive gold pieces valued at up to NOK 1 million, Dagbladet reports.

Inge Nygaard, CEO of David-Andersen, said the burglars breached bulletproof glass using specialized tools, targeting a display window. A second attempt on another window failed. The stolen items included Ole Lynggaard designs, such as a necklace priced at NOK 234,900.

Police confirmed the break-in was reported at 02:32. Operations leader Kristine Bryntesen Hedly stated that two individuals shattered the glass and fled before officers arrived. Authorities have not identified the suspects.

The thieves did not enter the store itself but created an opening in the facade large enough to reach inside, according to police.

This is not the first incident for the chain. In February, its CC Vest location was robbed of jewelry worth up to NOK 2 million. Nygaard noted that rising gold prices have increased risks for jewelers, emphasizing the need for strong security measures.
