National conciliator issues second proposal in polytechnic labor dispute

The national conciliator of Finland has submitted a second mediation proposal late Sunday evening in the ongoing dispute over collective bargaining agreements for polytechnics, according to the conciliator’s office, the Trade Union of Education (OAJ), and Sivista, the employers’ representative.

OAJ and Sivista have until Tuesday at 16:00 to respond to the proposal, after which it will be made public.

The first proposal, issued on May 11, was rejected by the employers’ side. OAJ has filed 19 strike warnings against polytechnics this spring.
