Hotel KG to open 1 July

Hotel KG in Klaksvík is on track to welcome its first paying guests on 1 July at 3 pm, according to operator Gist & Vist.

Johannes Jensen, director at Gist & Vist, told Faroese broadcaster KVF that preparations are progressing well, with craftsmen and staff working to finalise the hotel. A formal opening ceremony is planned for the days before the launch.

The 83-room hotel, designed by Henning Larsen Architects, includes a café, a casual restaurant, a fine-dining restaurant for 55 guests, a banquet hall for around 300 seated guests, and a large underground car park. The property is owned and built by construction firm Christian í Grótinum, which has not disclosed the total cost. Gist & Vist has been contracted to manage the hotel.
