SVT launches 2026 election compass with test by former politicians

SVT has launched its 2026 election compass ahead of Sweden’s parliamentary vote, with three high-profile political figures testing the tool, the broadcaster reports.

Political reporter Fouad Youcefi put the compass to Arin Karapet, a lawmaker who switched parties, Jamal El-Haj, a former Social Democrat turned independent, and Jan Emanuel, who left the Social Democrats to found his own party.

The test subjects compared their results with their own political positions to see if the compass aligned with their views.
