A safety and health action plan (HTU) must be kept on site, regularly updated, and actively used for safety work at all Faroese construction sites, according to workplace inspection regulations cited by public broadcaster KVF.

The requirement applies to all larger worksites, but responsibility for compliance at a controversial housing project in Argir remains unclear. The development, led by property firm LÍV Fastogn, has faced questions after the company’s director referred safety oversight inquiries to site manager Jóan Petur Vang.

LÍV, one of the Faroe Islands’ major financial institutions, has in recent years shifted investments from foreign assets into domestic housing and real estate. The issue was discussed in a KVF broadcast featuring LÍV director Jan Jakobsen.
