Finnish broadcaster Yle to air memorial programme for veteran news anchor Arvi Lind

A memorial broadcast honouring Arvi Lind, the longtime and widely respected Yle news anchor who died Sunday at 85, will air on Yle TV1 and Yle Areena beginning at 19:30 local time, the public broadcaster announced Tuesday.

The programme will feature reflections from Lind’s longtime colleagues Matti Rönkä and Marjukka Havumäki, along with insights into his life and impact from Petteri Ahomaa, Jani Halme, Mika Saukkonen, and media researcher Anu Koivunen. Mikko Kekäläinen will host the live broadcast, which will include Finnish Sign Language interpretation on Yle Areena.

Highlights from the memorial will be added to Yle’s online article following the broadcast.
