Danish transport authorities have approved Tesla’s FSD Supervised driver-assistance system for use on public roads, the Danish Road Directorate announced Tuesday.
The decision follows a review of technical documentation and aligns with an earlier provisional approval granted by Dutch regulators in April. Under EU rules, national authorities may recognize such approvals without waiting for bloc-wide endorsement.
The system, which assists with acceleration, braking, steering, and lane changes, must still be actively monitored by the driver at all times, the directorate emphasized. “The driver remains fully responsible for the vehicle and must be ready to take control immediately,” the statement read.
Authorities concluded that the technology could improve road safety by supporting drivers during operation, provided they maintain constant attention to traffic conditions.
