Danish teen takes flight in fighter jet after writing to air bases
A 16-year-old Danish boy has flown in a military jet after writing to air bases across the country requesting uniform patches, state broadcaster DR reports.
Karl-Emil Bomann Mikkelsen, who has dreamed of becoming a pilot since second grade, contacted multiple air stations hoping to collect insignia. Instead, Aalborg Air Base invited him for a flight in an F-16 fighter jet.
The experience fulfilled a long-held ambition for Mikkelsen, who follows in the footsteps of his father, also a pilot.
