One person rescued after canoe capsizes in Sarpsborg

A missing person was pulled from the water late Saturday evening after a canoe overturned in Sarpsborg, with emergency responders performing life-saving first aid at the scene, police confirmed.

The incident was reported just after 11 p.m., prompting a full-scale search involving all emergency services and a rescue helicopter, Dagbladet reports. Authorities located the capsized canoe by 11:22 p.m., with two individuals safely reaching shore while a third remained unaccounted for.

At 11:45 p.m., operations leader Håkon Hatlen updated that the missing person had been found and retrieved from the water. Emergency crews were administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation on site.
