The Faroese Health Workers’ Union has rejected a proposed wage settlement and is pushing for a two-year agreement instead of the one-year deal on the table, union chair Mary Antonsdóttir said Saturday.

Speaking to public broadcaster KVF, Antonsdóttir dismissed the latest offer as “completely inadequate,” comparing it to agreements already secured by 12 other unions in the public sector. She refused to engage with the proposal in its current form and insisted on a two-year contract.

Negotiations between the Health Workers’ Union, the Faroese Municipal Employers’ Association (KAF), and the national mediator are set to resume Tuesday.
