A massive overnight transport of offshore wind turbine parts rolled through central Denmark on Friday, drawing hundreds of spectators as it traveled from Give toward Hvide Sande, according to Danish broadcaster DR.

The convoy, which paused in the town of Arnborg, resumed its journey Saturday morning toward its final destination. Local resident Bjarne Bergfelt called the sight “an experience of the very biggest kind,” describing the scale as far more striking in person than in videos.

“It’s real, and you’re standing there seeing it all in real life. It’s impressive,” Bergfelt told DR.

While the transport attracted around 500 onlookers this time, Bergfelt noted the crowd was smaller than in 2024, when 1,500 to 2,000 people gathered. He attributed the drop in part to less publicity and dismissive descriptions of the cargo as “just a big pile of iron.”

“It’s a shame when you think about how rare and enormous it is to see Danish high-tech craftsmanship like this,” he said.
