A contested 90-metre stretch of road in Kaldbak will undergo an external technical assessment, Faroese public broadcaster KVF reports.
The decision, proposed by Tróndi Sigurðsson and approved unanimously by Kaldbak’s municipal council—with 12 votes in favour and one abstention—follows disputes over the contract award. The lowest bidder was rejected, and the selected contractor’s offer exceeded the lowest by 350,000 krona.
All council factions will participate in forming the review’s terms. Once completed, the findings will return to the council’s political steering committee for further action. Legal opinions on the matter have previously been sought.
