Sweden’s Competition Authority has carried out dawn raids on two major food wholesalers amid suspicions of cartel behaviour, Dagens Industri reports.
The investigation targets Martin & Servera—a subsidiary of the Axel Johnson conglomerate—and US-owned Menigo, following allegations of coordinated bidding in public procurement contracts for schools and elderly care facilities. The claims stem from tips provided by multiple municipalities.
The raids were executed last week after the Patent and Market Court granted approval, according to the newspaper. Martin & Servera’s communications director, Jonathan Blom, confirmed cooperation with authorities but declined further comment.
