16-year-old boy stabbed outside Copenhagen-area school
A 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the schoolyard outside a youth club at Islev Skole in Rødovre on Wednesday evening, according to a statement by the municipality’s mayor.
Rødovre Mayor Britt Jensen (S) confirmed the incident in a Facebook post, stating the victim—a student at nearby Valhøj Skole—was not in life-threatening condition. The youth club serves students from multiple schools, and around 30 young people were present at the time of the attack.
Copenhagen Vestegn Police have not yet officially confirmed the details but urged witnesses to contact them via the emergency line 1-1-4. Authorities have activated crisis support for students at both Islev Skole and Valhøj Skole, with police maintaining a visible presence at the school.
“My thoughts are with the boy, his parents, and his friends,” Jensen wrote. “This kind of assault has no place in our community, and we will not tolerate it.”
