E45 motorway closed in both directions after major gas leak

The E45 Østjyske Motorway is fully closed between exits 59 Hornstrup and 58 Hedensted, Danish broadcaster DR reported Wednesday.

Traffic is being diverted at both junctions after a significant gas leak forced the shutdown, according to South East Jutland Police. Authorities have not provided an estimated time for reopening.

Long queues are building from both Vejle and Horsens as drivers seek alternate routes. Northbound traffic is rerouted at exit 59 Hornstrup, while southbound traffic must exit at 58 Hedensted.
