A fire erupted Wednesday afternoon in a seventh-floor apartment along Mannerheimintie in Helsinki’s Laakso district, according to the Helsinki Rescue Department.

Crews extinguished the small blaze on the balcony using an aerial lift, with drones and thermal imaging cameras assisting in the operation. The fire caused traffic delays in the northbound direction.

Emergency services initially dispatched seven rescue units, paramedics, and police after receiving reports of flames visible on the balcony. The rescue department later confirmed the fire had been fully contained.
