Man shot dead by police after car chase in Nynäshamn

A man suspected of kidnapping and attempted murder was fatally shot by police in Nynäshamn late Tuesday after a car chase, Swedish public broadcaster SVT reports.

Officers confirmed they had “fired live rounds” at the driver, who died at the scene. Two additional individuals were injured in the incident and taken to hospital by ambulance.

The shooting followed a pursuit that ended when police stopped the vehicle in the coastal town south of Stockholm.
