Plans underway to explore district heating for Tinganes in the Faroe Islands

Plans are underway to explore the possibility of district heating for Tinganes.

The Prime Minister’s Office, in collaboration with Betri Insurance, has been working on developing a geothermal heating solution for the 22 buildings in Tinganes and the surrounding area, for which the office is responsible.

However, this initiative has currently been put on hold. Instead, discussions are now taking place with the Tórshavn Municipality and the District Heating Company to investigate the feasibility of extending district heating infrastructure to Tinganes.
