A proposed health centre in Tvøroyri would include five municipal doctor consultation rooms and a pharmacy, according to architectural plans presented by design firm BRIM.

The draft was discussed at a meeting in Tvøroyri’s municipal offices, attended by council leaders and mayors from Tvøroyri, Fámjin, and Hvalba municipalities, along with Faroese health minister Eydis Hartmann Niclasen and senior staff from the Health Authority.

The meeting focused on plans to establish a modern health hub for Suðuroy, consolidating municipal medical services and potentially integrating additional healthcare functions, such as a pharmacy, under one roof. Niclasen welcomed the proposal but stated further review would be needed before a final decision.
