Neighbour describes finding Oslo child welfare worker stabbed to death
A neighbour discovered Tamima Nibras Juhar (34) dead in an aftercare facility run by Oslo’s child welfare services after a teenage resident opened the door shouting for help, Dagbladet reports.
The woman told the paper she first noticed a car blocking a garage with the keys still in the ignition. After identifying the vehicle as Juhar’s, she and her husband knocked on the facility’s door. A young boy answered, shouting, “Help, help, there’s a dead woman in here.”
Her husband entered the room and immediately confirmed Juhar had been killed. “I knew right away it was something terrible,” he said. Emergency services arrived shortly after.
The 18-year-old accused of the murder, Djordje Wilms, admitted in Oslo District Court on Monday to stabbing Juhar at least 20–30 times in the staff room of the Kampen facility in August 2025. Prosecutors allege the attack involved at least 69 knife wounds, a claim Wilms dismissed as “nonsense”.
During questioning, Wilms described laughing during the assault, telling prosecutors he found it “funny” at the time. He later stated he now considers the killing “tragic and cruel”, though he admitted feeling proud immediately afterward.
Court documents reveal Wilms had previously sent death threats to a child welfare employee in December 2024, writing, “I will slaughter you like the Jews.” He was questioned but avoided prosecution after claiming the message was sent in anger.
Wilms, who has spent nine months in isolation, told the court he has since “changed his views” and worked on himself. Graphic images from the crime scene will be shown during the trial but not on large screens in the courtroom.
