Finland’s Supreme Administrative Court has refused to grant Škoda Transtech leave to appeal a lower court ruling upholding the award of a Helsinki tram procurement contract to Stadler Polska, Yle reports.

The decision effectively ends the Czech manufacturer’s legal challenge after its bid was disqualified in the tender process for new trams in the Helsinki metropolitan area. The Helsinki Regional Transport Authority (HSL) selected Stadler Polska as the supplier in November.

In March, the Market Court dismissed Škoda Transtech’s complaint, ruling that the company’s proposal had failed to meet the tender requirements and that the transport authority had not acted improperly. The Supreme Administrative Court’s refusal to hear a further appeal confirms that decision.
