The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration has placed an order worth approximately 1.2 billion kronor (€105m) with Saab for sensors and command systems for a ground-based air defence system, the company announced Tuesday.
Delivery of the systems, which include Saab’s Giraffe AMB radar and ground-based air defence (GBAD) command software, is scheduled for 2029–2030. The contract aims to enhance the Swedish Army’s air defence capabilities, according to the defence firm’s statement.
Carl-Johan Bergholm, head of Saab’s Surveillance business unit, described the order as “an important recognition” of the company’s air defence technology.
